Anna Exciting Affection: Unofficial Ren’py Remake v1.3

I had some extra vacations days during the end-of-year holidays and was bored at home. I still ‘needed’ to replay this game to have a save on the path where I rejected Jeremy to have the scenes with Diane but it is an RPGM game … So I started looking around to extract the images and found a nice and very simple Python script on this forum. This made me curious and I started digging around more in the game files and eventually started writing Python scripts to extract the game data and output Ren’py script. I also took the time to convert all images from PNG to the new WEBP format (developed by Google and supported by Ren’py), reducing the game images from 1.4GB down to 160MB for a total game size of 278MB for 0.7 and 1,8GB down to 206MB resulting in a total size of 364MB for 0.8.
My scripts are not ideal yet and still need a scene list to input which is currently a lot of manual labor. But I have an idea in my head to make an automated scene finder. If this idea pans out, I was thinking of seeing how robust and generic my scripts are and test them out on . This is also a very linear RPGM MV Maker game.
I re-factored my scripts and only generated 5 renpy-errors in the whole game which is good. So far it looks like my work for other MV games will be very easy. Just line up the scenes in the correct order and done. The main issue I see is depending on the animations are done. AEA uses movie files so that is a simple copy from the RPGM folder to the renpy game folder. Elena on the other hand uses an alternation between 2 images so there I would need to detect the same 2 images going in a row. And while it is an older RPGM engine not supported by my scripts, going through Lily’s files it is the same but they use 20-40 images for animation instead of 2.

1- Extract to desired location.
2- Click on “anna_ea_remake-1.1.exe” to start playing.

– No background music has been ported.
– Some scenes will have a black background. Normally these are scenes where the RPGM is in the background, the most common scenes are Anna serving customers.

– decide to follow the RPGM version numbering for my version. Any patches or fixes will get a trailing letter

– Fixed variable used to get the BJ at Thimoty’s LAN party

– updated to Renpy 6.99.14.2, this seemed to have fixed the auto_save_on_choice problem
– variables are now defined at a higher level so those errors should be fixed

– all videos are on infinite loop until the user clicks so all replay menu’s are removed
